Learning a New Skill
10,000 Hours
10,000 hours is often the number we hear when we want to learn a new skill.
“What!? Who has time for that!”
It can be intimidating when we hear that. Many people can give up hope of ever learning a new skill.
Luckily, this is a misconception.
It takes 10,000 hours to master a new skill. To become a top performing athlete or musician you will need 10,000 hours of work, but what about to learn a new skill?
20 Hours
Phew! Now that is a number I can deal with!
While you may not end up be a professional or even particularly good, you can learn a new skill in as little as 20 hours.
Learning new skills is critical to our life development and can lead to added joy in our lives.
There is a fabulous TedTalk that dives into this concept a little more. Check it out!
Do it Yourself
I learned a new skill myself!
I had previously been unsure how to process customer demographic information. I knew little about google sheets and next to nothing about google sheets formulas.
I decided to process some of my customer demographic information in google sheets using a formula.
With a little curiosity, research, and trial and error I was successfully able to process the information.
Below, you can see a video of how I did it!
